Policy on Virtual Tours & Associated Documents
The virtual tour and 3D tour fields in the MLS are reserved for website URLs that contain video walkthroughs, virtual panorama, 3D videos, or similar property simulations specific to the subject property. Links to any other websites are prohibited.
Internet links to branded property videos and 3D tours can be included in the ‘Virtual Tour’ and ‘3D Tour’ URL fields. Examples of branding include, but are not limited to, voiceovers, display of agent or firm contact information, and team or firm logos. Comments or captions unrelated to the subject property, marketing additional real estate-related services that the agent or firm may offer, or advertising other listings the agent or firm may have for sale or lease, are not permitted in any video or 3D tour attached to a listing in the MLS.
No self-promotions can be included in any field for any MLS listing.
Certain information is prohibited in public data fields found within the MLS. Public data includes, but is not limited to Photos, Photo Captions, Directions, Public Remarks, and Associated Documents*. Examples of prohibited data include, but are not limited to, agent names, company logos, agent photos, contact information, or agent/company website URLs.
*In some cases, it may be mandatory, or even unavoidable, for an agent to identify themselves and/or their firm, for liability reasons, as the person who compiled the documents that are being attached to the listing, such as property profiles and property disclosures.
However, for all intents and purposes, associated documents should be reserved for details of the property that cannot otherwise be noted through the use of any MLS data field. They should be specific to the property for sale or lease and not include any self-promotion of the agent or the agents’ firm. These documents may include, but are not limited to, floor plans, plat maps, water rights, energy usage, CC&R’s, well logs, conservation easements, real estate deeds, tax bills, and inspection reports.
